The windmills of La Mancha !
Of the original 32 windmills in the Castile-La Mancha region, many can be found near the city of Toledo. For example, there are eleven windmills on a ridge near the town of Consuegra.
Don Quixote intends to revive wandering knighthood in him. He sets out with his squire Sancho Panza and embark on the first adventure of attacking the windmills. Don Quixote sees these mills as giants and attacks.
Of the eleven mills, four still work and one windmill even grinds every fall during the festivals on the occasion of the saffron harvest. The ridge offers you a beautiful view over the plains of La Mancha.
